The CCTS’s proposed Virtual Biobank, a repository of genotypic, proteomic, clinical, and demographic data on large groups of human subjects, has become a real biobank, containing biological samples as well as data. DNA samples from normal human subjects of various ethnic and racial groups and from patients with a variety of diseases are available. Data from previous analyses of these subjects are also accessible.
For more information on the Biobank, what samples and data are available, and how to add samples to the Biobank, please contact Patricia Jones (Patricia.E.Jones@uth.tmc.edu) 713-500-2092.
Access to samples and data will require application through the CCTS/iRIS system (https://iris.uth.tmc.edu/) and perhaps through the Texgen program.
