The goal of the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences
(CCTS) is to facilitate clinical and translational research at The
University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, The University of
Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Memorial Hermann Hospital
System. The CCTS is one of the original 12 such centers funded by
the National
Institutes of Health’s Clinical and Translational Science
Awards.

Clinical Research Education: An Introductory Course for
Safe and Ethical Research Practice
Description:
UTHSCH and MHHS present a comprehensive four and a half
day educational program focusing on the basics of coordinating a
clinical research trial.
Objective:
To provide a model of practice in conducting clinical research based
on the principles of Good Clinical Practice, thereby focusing on
research compliance, protecting the safety and well-being of the
research subject and ensuring integrity of the research.
Audience:
· New research nurses
and coordinators of clinical trials
· Current research
nurses and clinical coordinators
· MHH staff nurses who
care for research subjects on the unit

Pre-registration is required. The course is free
